Hotel Serenella

I loved staying at Hotel Serenella! The location is perfect, very near the city center, but on a quieter area. It is a very cozy hotel, with great amenieties! The staff was very welcoming and prepared to help us. I was traveling with a small dog an this was by far the Hotel where we most felt welcome! PS: breakfast was perfection!

The bath tub was very nice indeed. The rest see below I booked directly. Despite the fact that it was only the beginning of the season, most places around the lake & especially in Sirmione were already fully booked. However, this place seemed empty. Not a single other person at breakfast. Very weird. They didn’t make me feel welcomed; the staff (family run business apparently) did not make an effort & the dog of the owner was incredibly annoying & not well behaved. Minibar wasn’t filled up & all it all it was overpriced & a great disappointment indeed! The internet/wifi did only work properly in the reception area; so if you are a digital nomad & working from the computer better avoid this location! When I booked I made clear that I was travelling for work. The daughter, who is running the reception, would not let me use an empty room nearer the reception/Wifi for an important meeting I had on the computer; even though I offered to pay for the room. She kept repeating an incredibly narrow-minded phrase like: morally I cannot give you the room for an hour & charge you for a night..“ I replied: „Well then charge me for an hour only- all the rooms are empty anyway.“ She was totally rude & didn’t try to help at all. With such an attitude one should not run a hotel in my opinion! Private beach was closed out of laziness (!) There was some construction work in some of the rooms & when I kindly asked them to at least shut the doors they completely ignored my request. Never again (!)
